What a lesson with me is like

No textbook to get through, no chapter 7 because it’s week 7. We start from you.

A lesson on Google Meet
A French lesson on Google Meet: the shared whiteboard with the vocabulary of the lesson, the student and Anthony

It starts with your life, not a syllabus

Your job, your move, your exam, the conversation with your in-laws you keep avoiding. That’s the material. The grammar comes in when you need it to say something.

You do most of the talking

You didn’t come to listen to me speak French. Speaking comes first, from the first minute, at whatever level you have today. I correct you as we go, without stopping you every three words.

It’s allowed to be fun

People learn faster when they’re relaxed, and nobody relaxes in a classroom that feels like an exam. We laugh a fair amount. It’s still work.

See how lessons work

What happens after each lesson

With most teachers, a lesson is over when the call ends. Here, it becomes a page in your account, and the next lesson is built on it.

We have the lesson

55 minutes on Google Meet, the two of us. The lesson is recorded.

Your Smart Classroom is built

The recording is turned into a page in your account, with everything from the lesson.

You review between lessons

Ten minutes on the train, half an hour on Sunday. Everything in it comes from your own lesson.

The next lesson starts from there

I prepare it from what happened: your mistakes, what you avoided, what you’re ready for. You continue from where you stopped.

Your Smart Classroom: one page for every lesson

This is what you find in your account after each lesson.

  • The summary of what we covered.
  • The video replay, with subtitles, for 30 days.
  • The audio to listen again or download, for 6 months.
  • Vocabulary and grammar, with audio, to hear and repeat.
  • Your pronunciation corrections.
  • Homework set by me, for you.
  • Exercises built on what we did in the lesson.

See a real Smart Classroom

Most language apps keep your streak. We keep your lessons.

Your summary, your vocabulary, your corrections and your homework stay in your account for good. Even if you stop taking lessons. Even if you never buy anything else.

Only the recordings have a time limit.

Anthony, your French teacher

Hi, I’m Anthony.

I’m French, and I’ve been teaching my language to adults since 2007.

My students come from all over: the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Germany, India, Mexico and Azerbaijan.

Engineers, doctors, diplomats, parents at home. Some start from zero before a move. Some already work in French and want to stop translating in their head. Some have an exam date. Some want to talk with their partner’s family at dinner.

I travel a lot, and I speak three languages. So I know what it is to be the foreigner at the table, the one who understands the joke ten seconds after everyone else. That’s the person I teach for.

What I’ve learned in all those years: more content is never the answer. What works is someone who listens to how you speak, remembers it, and builds the next lesson on it.

More about me

What students say

In their words, not mine.

“I first started taking French lessons with Anthony when I moved to Geneva for a new job. I hardly spoke a single word of French and was a little nervous to take up lessons as I have always lacked confidence when it comes to language learning.”

“My trepidation did not last: Anthony is thoughtful, patient, encouraging, as well as challenging in the right moments too. He’s a fabulous teacher and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to those willing to learn French online! Merci Anthony!”

Matthew J.
From England, lives in Switzerland

“There are almost 5 months since we have started our French lessons with Anthony. During this period I have passed 2 TCF exams. I was really surprised with the result B1! Frankly, I was expecting ones between A1 and A2.”

“And it was one of the Anthony’s big support and the right course navigation!”

Kamilla V.
From Azerbaijan, lives in Switzerland

“Thank you so much again for the excellent preparation of the French part! This has been extremely helpful.”

“The practicing with you has really been extremely helpful and great fun. I hope to return to practicing French with you at some point.”

Book when it suits you. Move it when life happens.

  • You book yourself, from your account. Pick a slot in my calendar. No emails back and forth.
  • The Google Meet link arrives on its own. Nothing to install, nothing to set up.
  • Cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours before. No explanation needed.
  • Pack of 10 lessons €45 a lesson
  • Pack of 20 lessons €42.50 a lesson

A lesson is 55 minutes. Lessons come in packs, starting with 10. A pack is valid for 6 months, and it includes access to the platform for as long as it is valid.

Preparing for an exam?

I prepare students for the DELF, the TEF, the TCF and the Swiss FIDE test. Exam lessons work the same way as the others, with one difference: we train on the real format, and your Smart Classrooms keep every correction to review before the day itself.

Taking the FIDE for a Swiss permit or for naturalisation? I’ve put everything about it on one page.

FIDE exam prep

And when I’m not there

One lesson a week is a good start. What you do on the other six days is what makes it stick. The platform is for those days.

If you take lessons with a pack, the platform comes with it. If you prefer to learn on your own, you can join the platform without ever booking a lesson.

A real topic of the A1 course, the French alphabet: the six vowels in a table, each with an audio button, the letter in French and how to say it in English

The A1 beginner course

French from zero, at your own pace: 123 topics and 19 quizzes, with audio and exercises. The sounds and the sentences you’ll use first.

The community

Other adults learning French, in one place. Ask the question you’d be embarrassed to ask in a class, write a few lines in French, read what others are working on. It’s a small group today.

See the community

Seven days on the platform. You enter a card; cancel before day 7 and nothing is charged. After that, a Founding membership is €25 a month, or €250 a year. Founding members keep that price for as long as they stay members.

Two ways to start. Pick the one that matches where you are.

A trial lesson, with 30 days on the platform

One lesson with me: 55 minutes, €25. We talk, I find out where your French really is, I show you how I work, and you ask me anything. Afterwards you get your first Smart Classroom, and it stays yours whatever you decide.

Your trial lesson also opens the platform to you for 30 days from the day you book: the A1 beginner course and the community. It doesn’t renew and there’s nothing to cancel. No obligation to continue.

Just looking for now

Seven days on the platform, on your own, starting in the next two minutes: the A1 beginner course and the community. No lesson, no teacher, no conversation you’re not ready for.

Some people look around first and meet me later. Plenty come straight to the lesson. Both are fine.

Questions

None for the lessons: I teach complete beginners and people who already work in French. The A1 beginner course on the platform is for beginners only.

55 minutes, on Google Meet. A computer or a tablet, a decent connection, and somewhere you can talk out loud.

A 55-minute lesson with me, your first Smart Classroom, and 30 days on the platform, counted from the day you book. The 30 days end on their own: nothing renews and there’s nothing to cancel.

Because the recording is what your Smart Classroom is built from. Without it there’s no summary, no corrections and no vocabulary list to come back to.

They stay in your account. The summary, the vocabulary, the corrections and the homework from every lesson you’ve had remain yours to open. Only the recordings have a limit: the video replay is available for 30 days after each lesson, the audio for 6 months.

You can cancel or reschedule for free up to 24 hours before, directly from your account.

No. It works the other way round: every pack of lessons includes access to the platform for as long as the pack is valid. A pack of 10 or 20 lessons is valid for 6 months.

You enter a card to start. If you cancel before day 7, nothing is charged. If you stay, it becomes a Founding membership at €25 a month, or €250 a year. There are 50 founding places, and founding members keep that price for as long as they stay members.

Yes: the DELF, the TEF, the TCF and the Swiss FIDE test. Tell me your date in the trial lesson and we’ll work backwards from it.

No. Lessons are online, and you choose your slot in the calendar. The platform is there whenever you are.

One lesson. Then you’ll know.

Whether we get along matters more than any method. So let’s meet first, and you can decide afterwards.
